This IRPAS webinar will focus on the latest developments in the fast-changing world of ESG reporting for investors. With global investor attention coalescing around SASB and the TCFD, we will hear the different perspectives of an institutional investor and an ESG standard-setter (SASB).

Following a briefing on frameworks in general and SASB specifically and the rapid adoption of its standards by companies and investors, the discussion will explore topics such as: 

  • How investors are integrating ESG data into their investment decisions and stewardship
  • Ways that corporate reporting is evolving to meet the needs of more data-driven investment processes
  • Incorporating ESG factors into strategy and risk management
  • Reconciling Singaporean reporting requirements with global investor expectations
  • Relationship of SASB Standards to other frameworks, including GRI & SDGs

About the Speakers/Panellists

Mr. Egon Vavrek – Director, APG Asset Management Asia

Egon Vavrek is a Director at APG Asset Management Asia and he is located in Hong Kong. Egon is working with APG’s direct equity investments in emerging markets.
Before Egon joined APG, he worked as the head of LGT Capital Management’s EMEA Equity Investments. He joined this Swiss based multi-boutique asset manager in 2008. Previously Egon held various Emerging Market roles in London, such as portfolio manager and analyst for emerging market equities.
Egon attended the ICMA Centre, part of Henley Business School in the United Kingdom, where he obtained his MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking in 2006.
He has had relevant experience since 2000 and joined APG in 2013.

Mr. Jaideep Singh Panwar - Corporate Governance & Responsible Investment, Asia Pacific, APG Asset Management Asia

Jaideep is responsible for ESG public equities India, ASEAN, Australia, Latam with selected engagement in US/Europe, and for engagement with issuers and selected regulators.
He was previously also responsible for ESG in private infra and real estate investments in southern Asian markets
Now, he is responsible for Asset Management (APG), ESG research – Asia (Responsible Research), Consulting (EY). Professional/ Academic: CFA charterholder, MBA, MSc Environmental Management. 

Mr. Neil Stewart - Director of Corporate Outreach, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB)

Neil Stewart joined SASB in 2020 as its New York-based director of corporate outreach, bringing more than 25 years of experience in and around investor relations and corporate governance. Previously, he was at Citigroup as vice president IR advisory on the ADR team, helping non-U.S. issuers develop IR and ESG strategies. Stewart was formerly editorial and research director of both IR Magazine and Corporate Secretary magazine and is currently president of NIRI NY, the New York chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute.

Mr. Harold Woo – President, Investor Relations Professionals Association (Singapore)

Harold Woo is ex-Senior Advisor for Investor & Partner Relations in CapitaLand Limited. He joined CapitaLand in 2003 and relinquished his position as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations in June 2015. Post retirement from CapitaLand in May 2017, he assumed a senior advisory role at WeR1 Consultants Pte Ltd, a boutique investor relations, corporate strategy and media communications company, from September 2017 till October 2018. He took on a senior advisor contract with Sasseur Asset Management Pte Ltd from February 2019 till January 2020. Sasseur REIT was one of the top performing S-Reits in 2019, with a total return of 53%. He has almost 20 years of stockbroking experience in institutional sales, securities trading and investment research. From 1990 to 1999, he was with Vickers Ballas & Co Pte Ltd, progressing from Director of Institutional Sales to Global Head of Institutional Sales. Prior to 1990, he was Associate Director at James Capel Far East Limited, an international stockbroker. From 1981 to 1985, he was research manager at Ong & Co Pte Ltd. Harold garnered the Best IRO award in IR Magazine – South East Asia Awards in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011. In 2012, he was named as one of 25 Best IROs of last 25 years by IR Magazine. In December 2015, he was bestowed a Lifetime Achievement Award by IR Magazine. He is on the judging panels for IR Magazine Awards 2017, 2018 and 2019 – South East Asia and Greater China self-nomination categories. He served as the Honorary Secretary of the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) (“SIAS”) from 2015 – 2017 and remains as a consultant. Harold is on the faculty for the Listed Entity Director Programme conducted by the Singapore Institute of Directors (“SID”). He received his Master of Science in Management Science from Imperial College, University of London.
