About the Panelists
Mr. Xavier Jean - Senior Director, Lead of Southeast Asia Corporate Ratings, S&P Global Ratings
Mr. Xavier Jean is a Senior Director in S&P Global Ratings, Corporate Ratings Group.
He joined S&P Global Ratings in 2004 in London. Based in Singapore since 2010, Xavier was the lead analyst for corporate ratings in Malaysia and Indonesia until 2017, with a specific focus on private and state-owned companies in the mining, oil and gas, chemical and agribusiness sectors.
Since 2017, Xavier is responsible for research efforts and investor outreach on credit trends and developments in Southeast Asia.
Xavier is a spokesperson for S&P Global Ratings in Asia on E.S.G.-themes and how environment, social and governance factors impact credit dynamics across sectors.
Xavier has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in Canada, with specialization in Economics and Finance (first-class honors) and a minor in Mathematics. He is a CFA charterholder.
Mr. Ankur Khandelwal - Regional Head, Equity Capital Markets (ECM), RHB Banking Group
Mr. Ankur is currently the Regional Head of Equity Capital Markets at RHB Bank Berhad. He has more than 14 years of equity fundraising experience covering Southeast Asia and India.
Mr. Shern-Ling Koh, CFA – Portfolio Manager, Principal Real Estate Investors
Mr. Shern-Ling Koh is a portfolio manager for Principal Real Estate Investors, the dedicated real estate unit of Principal Global Investors. He is responsible for researching Asian Pacific listed property securities for the team’s global real estate strategies. Shern joined the firm in early 2014. He was previously the CEO/CIO at OSK International Asset Management where he managed all investment mandates for their public and private equity business in Singapore. He served as an investment analyst at Fidelity International Ltd from 2007 to 2011 where he was responsible for identifying publicly listed real estate securities investment opportunities for Fidelity’s global funds. Shern received his bachelor’s degree from Cambridge University, a master’s degree from Yale University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and speaks Mandarin and French.
Mr. Colin Ong – Director, Eng and Co. LLC
Mr. Colin is a corporate and capital markets lawyer, and advises corporate clients (including REITs and business trust issuers) on a range of corporate and fund raising activities, including initial public offerings, secondary equity offerings, issuance of debt and perpetual securities (including convertible bonds), debt issuance programmes and acquisitions. He is recognised in a number of independent legal publications including Who’s Who Legal, Chambers Global – The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Chambers Asia Pacific – Asia Pacific’s Leading Lawyers for Business and AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers.

Mr. Jonathan Kuah is responsible for corporate planning and strategic communication with stakeholder of Starhill Glolbal REIT. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, including 10 years in the real estate industry. Prior to joining the Manager, he spent five years with CapitaLand Limited as Vice President of Investor Relations. Mr. Kuah also held corporate investment banking positions at HSBC and Crѐdit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank as well as investment analyst positions at various brokerages. Mr. Kuah sits on the Board of Investor Relations Professionals Association (Singapore). Mr. Kuah holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance) from California State University, Long Beach, USA.
